Hazardous Waste Services
Why Use Us to Manage Your Hazardous Waste?
One of g2's greatest strengths is its versatility. Our breadth of services gives retailers the ability to have one vendor manage all regulated materials disposition. Because not everything can be recycled (for example, spilled hazardous waste with absorbent), there can be times when hazardous waste pickups may be necessary for a facility. We have a variety of approaches towards handling such materials, including being able to service facilities when needed vs. being locked into a set schedule. We can help manage sending copies of manifests to agencies for states that require them. We also support our programs through development and distribution of posters and training materials to help store employees. But the greatest advantage to using g2 is being able to reduce hazardous waste generation volume, cost and pickup frequency through recycling yet still having "coverage" for any exceptions that must be handled as waste.
How Does It Work?
Where Can I Find My Program Data?
When we set up your hazardous waste program, you are provided with secure login access to an online data system that contains all your waste manifest records. We maintain copies of manifests in the database, and we include other information, such as pickup dates, that can be queried without having to review every manifest.
What Are the Regulations?
There are many federal and state regulations governing transportation and disposal of hazardous waste. It is important, first, to understand that all retailers have materials that could be considered hazardous waste if disposed and not properly recycled. Even "all-natural" products may be subject to the rules governing waste, because some states are much stricter than the federal regulations in terms of the definition of hazardous waste. Fortunately, we have strong internal expertise regarding the nuances of how to manage hazardous waste in a retail setting. Second, because of the holistic view we take towards handling retail materials, including utilizing recycling alternatives, and the fact that we do not own or run disposal facilities ourselves, we can offer added value and insight regarding your hazardous waste questions.
